Meet Aline Gadue Stirling

Hello, my name is Aline and I am the President of Gadue’s Dry Cleaning.  Even though I grew up in this business, I honestly never expected to make it my career.  In fact, I went off to college with thoughts of pursuing a career in the sciences.  But when I came back to Vermont with a degree in Biology and American Studies from William Smith College, I needed a job for a year while I waited for my boyfriend Lee to finish a two-year internship. Naturally, I went to work for my Dad.  Before the end of that first year, Lee and I were engaged and he was planning on attending UVM for graduate studies.  Now more than seven years later, Lee and I have made Vermont our permanent home.  We’re raising our three daughters in a house we built next to my parents’ home, so they get to see Grandpa Mark and Grandma Margie just about every day.  And I get to experience the great joy and satisfaction (and challenge!) of running a family-owned business.

If you ever have any questions or comments about our service, I would love to hear from you.  You can reach me at(802) 879-3144 or at alinegadue@gadues.com.  Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season, from our family to yours.

Toys for Kids
of Vermont

The Marine Corps League units of Vermont (there are five throughout the state) collect the toys with the help of hundreds of volunteers and businesses. They warehouse them and turn them over to agencies like the Salvation Army who receive most of their toys from Toys for Kids, allowing them to use their other fund collections to purchase food for the folks they service.  In 2007 the Salvation Army in Chittenden County distributed to  close to 600 families with three to six kids per family.

The Marines have recruited hundreds of volunteers who monitor the red barrels with white snowflakes on them that have become the symbol of Christmas spirit in Vermont.  The toys are collected by these volunteers, stored safely and then turned over to other charitable organizations like the Salvation Army, Light Ministries, and various church groups for distribution to the needy.

Toys for Kids is a 100% volunteer operation.  All monies collected stay in Vermont and are used to purchase Christmas gifts for older kids.
