The Vermont Governor's Awards were established in 1993 to recognize the actions taken by Vermonters to conserve and protect natural resources, prevent pollution, and promote
environmental sustainability.
The notification of our award from Deoborah Markowitz, Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, reads in part: “Your persistence to find an environmentally safe alternative for dry cleaning solvent and your company’s adoption of Solvent K4 stands out as a model that is an inspiration to all Vermonters to find effective approaches to conserve natural resources and energy, prevent pollution before it is generated, and reduce waste, thus safeguarding human health and the environment.”
We are thrilled with this recognition of our continuing efforts to go green. Our commitment to the environment is a commitment not only to our community, but to ourselves and our longevity--a guarantee to our clients that we will not only be around, we'll still be the best, for generations to come. And as a client of Gadue’s, we mean it when we say “This is all for you!”
This is actually the second time Gadue’s has been acknowledged with a Governor’s Award. In 1996, Gadue’s Dry Cleaning and Mark Gadue won the award for Pollution Prevention for an exemplary pollution prevention plan, which became a model for other Vermont dry cleaners.
